It was a question that I never thought I would be asking my doctor, yet there I was sitting on the crinkly paper talking to my doctor about my weight loss journey.
It’s a valid question. There I sat, 99 pounds down (yes that damn scale could not give me that last pound) and I had no idea what my ideal weight was. I never had the occasion to ask that question because I was so dramatically overweight that I never thought I would reach that number.
She smiled and told me that with my 5’10 height I needed to weigh somewhere between 160-175. She quickly added, but with your age you will probably never hit that 160.
She encouraged me to try for the 175, however, telling me that that was doable and if I hit that point, I would be considered “normal” weight.
And thus was born a new goal – a new goal I never thought I would aim for. My “normal” weight goal. I have 28 pounds until I hit that point. These next 28 pounds will be the hardest ever but I’m ready for it.
